For this album I was asked to arrange/produce 2 songs. Briefing was basically to get them as pop as possible. A fun challenge, as most worship songs are written within the “worship” style of music.

Live To Praise You started out with the guitar groove and I build the entire production on top of that base. There’s a fun guitar solo at 1:40, just after a subtle change in the chords at the end of second chorus. Our executive producer Laurens Post was so happy with how the track turned out that he decided to make it the opening track of the album:)

There Is Power started with a bunch of percussive and kick sounds. I spend quite some time just working on those and getting the groove right. In the bridge I wanted to get a sense of urgency across, so I changed both groove and chords to make that happen. It turned out to be my favourite part of the song:)

After the arranging/production part was done I visited Usound studios to record Christiana Bohorquez vocals for There is power. I also attended the mixing session for both songs at groovity studios with Wilkin de Vlieger.

Besides the production of Live To Praise You and There Is Power I played guitar on another 6 tracks of the album. For Hij Is Genoeg I came up with a cool theme and sound that works great for the groove that was already there:)
